Chronic Osteoarthritis Management Initiative (COAMI) Promotes New Approach
The Chronic Osteoarthritis Management Initiative (COAMI) Work Group consists of more than 20 leading professional societies that are pushing for osteoarthritis to be considered a chronic condition. The suggested changes would include screening for risk factors, such as obesity, genetics, and injury, as well as promoting regular exercise as a way to manage symptoms before they become debilitating.
